Greg Kuzmicki has worked the painting trade since 1978. His apprenticeship was San Francisco in the early 1980s — waterproofing high-rise buildings and restoring mansions in Pacific Heights — the kind of work where a mistake shows for decades and preparation is not a talking point but a survival skill.
He moved north to Marin, then in 1990 founded Solidarity Painting in Santa Rosa with his wife Alice. The name was a promise about how the company would treat people — crew and customers alike — and the tagline that went on the first van is still on the trucks today: “For People Who Require Quality”
Their son Adam grew up inside the company: summers on jobsites during school vacations, then a full-time journeyman, then a foreman running crews. Today he serves as Manager, overseeing corporate operations — a real succession, earned with a brush in hand, not just a title passed down.
The company itself has stayed deliberately small: a crew of 7, most of them long-tenured, insured with the same carriers for more than a decade, working under the same license — CSLB #586555 — since the beginning. More than 5,500+ projects later, that's still how Solidarity equals stability.
